Cuyuna’s history of iron ore mining has created some of the most unique manmade lakes in Minnesota. Surrounded by dozens of miles of mountain bike trails, the lakes are the blue gem of Cuyuna Country.
Cuyuna’s crystal clear mine pit lakes are hundreds of feet deep with tall pine trees and abandoned mining remnants adorning their floors. And fish. Loads and loads of fish. The water is so clear you can see the ledges of the mine pit drop offs in to the deep dark mysterious pits below.
